I’ll take you through, step by step and in a friendly, accessible way, how the town of Saint-Malo was built over the centuries.
The tour is conducted in English and lasts approximately 2 hours. We’ll stroll along the ramparts of Saint-Malo and I’ll explain how the city developed over the centuries. The tour covers a variety of topics (history, seafaring, architecture, etc.). It is illustrated with diagrams and photographs to help you immerse yourself fully in Saint-Malo’s past.
The main topics covered include: the evolution of Saint-Malo’s defences since its foundation, the origins of the city’s glory (trade, fishing and privateering), the tides, and the scars of the Second World War… Saint-Malo has over 2,000 years of history, so the list of topics to cover is by no means exhaustive. I’ll be delighted to answer any questions you may have.
The meeting point is on the Esplanade Saint-Vincent in Saint-Malo. We’ll meet 50 metres from the tourist office by the anchor, near the ramparts. In the photos section, you’ll find two schematic photos showing you how to get to the anchor.
You’ll be joining me on my first tours in English. The price is therefore very affordable, so that I can practise before the summer. This in no way affects the quality of my tours; I invite you to read the reviews of my other tours in French.

INFORMAZIONI IMPORTANTI
The weather in Saint-Malo is very windy and changeable. I’d advise you to pack for both cold and warm weather.
The meeting point is in the Parc de la Légion d’Honneur on the Esplanade Saint-Vincent in Saint-Malo. We’ll meet 50 metres from the tourist information office, by the anchor, near the ramparts. In the photos section, you’ll find two schematic diagrams showing you how to get to the anchor.
INCLUSO
- The tour includes a guided walk around the town and an introduction to the history of Saint-Malo.
NON INCLUSO
- We will be passing through sections with steps, so pushchairs are not recommended.
