You'll get to know weaving on a loom, a living practice in Peru. Using natural fibers and simple techniques, you can create your piece and discover a different way to connect with our culture.
We'll welcome you to our home-workshop in Miraflores, a quiet space where weaving is part of our daily life. We'll start by talking about the natural fibers we'll use, like alpaca, cotton, sheep's wool, chambira, and more, and how they're obtained and processed by hand. Then, you'll learn to weave on a frame loom, starting with a simple approach that doesn't require any prior experience. Each person can choose their fibers and colors to create their own piece, at their own pace, guided step by step. While we weave, we'll share stories about textiles in Peru and their link to memory, territory, and everyday life. At the end, you can take your fabric as a souvenir of an experience that connects hands, history, and the present. This isn't just a workshop; it's an invitation to see handmade things with fresh eyes and to get to know a living part of our history from the inside. We'll meet at our workshop in Miraflores; all materials are included, and no prior experience is needed.
