Begin your adventure with a scenic 30-minute speedboat ride to a natural manta cleaning station. Upon arrival, put on your snorkeling gear and jump into the water to observe these gentle giants.

Watch as the manta rays hover above the reef, allowing small reef fish to clean them by removing parasites and dead skin. The mantas typically swim around 3–5 meters below the surface, making it possible to observe them beautifully while snorkeling when they are present.

Learn about the manta rays from your guide and capture photos and videos of your experience. After your snorkeling adventure, return to the speedboat for the journey back to the starting point.

About the Manta Rays:

Manta rays are among the largest and most graceful creatures in the ocean. Despite their impressive size, they are gentle, curious animals that feed on tiny plankton rather than fish. They have no stinging barb and pose no threat to snorkelers, making encounters with them a truly special experience.

The manta rays visit cleaning stations, specific areas of reef where small cleaner fish remove parasites and dead skin from their bodies. You may see the mantas slowly circling, hovering above the reef, or making repeated passes over the cleaning station while the cleaner fish get to work.

At this site, the mantas are typically found around 3–5 metres below the surface. This makes them possible to observe from above when they are present, although the location is also popular with divers who can get closer to the cleaning station.

Mantas are highly intelligent and have one of the largest brain-to-body ratios of any fish. They can also recognise themselves in mirrors, a behaviour associated with advanced cognitive abilities. Watching one glide effortlessly through the water, sometimes just metres beneath you, gives you a fascinating glimpse into the world of these remarkable animals.

Every encounter is different because these are wild animals in their natural environment. Manta sightings and their behaviour cannot be guaranteed, but when they visit the cleaning station, the experience can be unforgettable.
