Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the volcanic highlands of Northern Rwanda, where you’ll be welcomed by the peaceful rhythm of rural life. Upon arrival in Bigogwe, you'll meet the traditional cow herders — known as "Abashumba" — and observe their deep connection to cattle, which hold a sacred and symbolic place in Rwandan culture.

You’ll experience live demonstrations of traditional milking practices, cattle songs, and the unique rituals that are part of everyday life for the herders. Learn about the cultural significance of cows in Rwandan history, from naming ceremonies to dowries and storytelling.
