Just 20 minutes from downtown Montevideo, visit the active winery closest to the city: a family-owned manor with more than a century of winemaking history, now managed by the third and fourth generations of the Angel Fallabrino family. This is where tradition, the art of wine making, and the Uruguayan *terroir* come together on a quiet and leisurely afternoon in Melilla.

The visit begins with a guided tour of the historic cellars and the estate's museum, where you'll discover how carefully selected, virus-free grape varieties are transformed into the wines that Angel Fallabrino has been exporting since 1997 to Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands, France, and Panama.

Next, you'll settle into the tasting room — opened in 2018 to welcome visitors — to take part in a short introductory course in wine tasting. Through six wines ranging from the classic range to *premium* labels and sparkling wines, your host will teach you how to serve each style and identify its aromas, textures, and finish on the palate.

Each glass is accompanied by a platter of regional cheeses and charcuterie, selected to enhance the character of the wines.
