The journey begins at a long-established Japanese confectionery shop with over 400 years of history. Here, you will try your hand at making Rakugan—one of Japan’s quintessential traditional sweets—using authentic wooden molds. Afterward, you will savor your handmade creation alongside freshly whisked matcha while learning about the traditions and etiquette of the Japanese tea ceremony.

Next, you will visit a beautifully preserved samurai residence featuring a traditional tea room and Japanese garden. You will then stroll through Kazuemachi, one of Kanazawa’s historic geigsha districts. As you wander past atmospheric streetscapes and wooden teahouses, you will gain a sense of how samurai culture, geisha traditions, and the culture of Chanoyu (tea ceremony) have shaped Kanazawa’s unique heritage.

The tour concludes with a beautifully presented "seasonal kaiseki -style bento" prepared by one of Kanazawa’s most popular restaurants—an establishment where reservations are often fully booked six months or more in advance. The menu changes with the seasons, utilizing carefully selected local ingredients. During the meal, the tea ceremony instructor will explain the seasonal ingredients, traditional cooking methods, tableware, and the philosophy behind Japanese cuisine, helping you to deeply appreciate the culinary experience beyond just the taste.
