Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – City Discovery

Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar – Lake Tana Exploration

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Bahir Dar. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax briefly before heading to the shores of Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake and the source of the Blue Nile.

Take a scenic boat trip to the historic island monasteries, beautifully decorated with ancient religious paintings. Later, visit the spectacular Blue Nile Falls (seasonal water level permitting). The area is rich in birdlife, including bee-eaters and parrots. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Lunch is included.

Day 3: Bahir Dar – Gondar – Royal Castles

After breakfast, drive along the scenic Lake Tana route to Gondar, the former royal capital of Ethiopia. Visit the magnificent castles within the Royal Enclosure, part of the UNESCO-listed Fasil Ghebbi.
