Why This Tour?

Most tourists visit Ghana's castles on a rushed day trip. You will experience them the way they deserve - slowly, deeply and personally guided by a man who grew up in their shadow.
Starting from Lagos, Cotonou, Lomé or Abidjan, Alfred Bonsu Tours picks you up personally and brings you across West Africa's borders and deep into Ghana's most powerful historical landmarks. Every single day is packed with meaning, adventure and authentic Ghanaian culture.

Day 1 - Accra: Ghana's Beating Heart
Your journey into Ghana begins in Accra - the vibrant capital that set Africa free.

Independence Square & Black Star Gate

Stand where Kwame Nkrumah declared Ghana's independence on 6th March 1957 - the moment that changed Africa forever.

Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum

Visit the final resting place of Africa's greatest freedom fighter. A deeply moving experience that sets the tone for everything that follows.

Morning - Elmina:

Elmina Boat Cruise

Glide along the Benya Lagoon past the castle walls and the colourful fishing boats of Elmina - a perspective most tourists never get to see.

Elmina Dutch Cemetery

One of the most rarely visited and most moving sites in Ghana - a piece of colonial history hidden in plain sight.
