Create your own knife in Osaka with this workshop. Choose the type of knife, sharpen the blade, and attach the handle. Engrave your name in Japanese to make it truly one-of-a-kind.
Begin your experience by putting on a light version of a haori (Japanese kimono-style jacket) to protect your clothes from accidental stains. Get a unique keyholder with your name written in Japanese letters.
Sit down, have some tea or juice (a variety of soft drinks are available), and learn the cultural aspects and history behind Japanese knives and swords from a friendly Japanese bilingual master. Choose the type of blade you want to sharpen (up to 5 types of knives available, some of them are for a small additional charge) and the size of the knife.
Sharpen the blade and become a master of a meditative process which takes a lot of concentration and perfectly relieves stress. Several English-speaking crew members are always there to sustain an intimate chat and correct the movements. Engage in fun and friendly conversations with locals while polishing your knife-making skills and getting personalized advice.
Engrave your name in Japanese letters on the handle and attach it using a traditional hammer to make the work of art complete. You can also engrave a picture or anything your imagination is up to. A delicate crew member will help and teach the Japanese basics if you’re interested. Commemorate the sound of effort transforming into a customized knife.
Enjoy aesthetic packaging, Japanese snacks, and tea. The staff will make the explanation simple and easy to understand, adapting to your level of English knowledge. Some of the staff also speak Spanish.
