Accompanied by a Costa Rican historian, you'll explore some of the capital's most traditional neighborhoods while learning about the history of cantinas as places for socializing, conversation, food, and social life.

The tour begins at La Vasconia, one of San José's traditional cantinas. Here, we'll learn about the role these establishments have played in the daily life of San José's residents and enjoy our first drink.

From there, we'll walk to Morazán Park and continue through the Otoya and Aranjuez neighborhoods. During the tour, we'll talk about the transformation of San José, its traditional neighborhoods, its architecture, and the different ways in which its inhabitants have used and experienced the city.

Our next stop will be La Buenos Aires, where we'll enjoy a chifrijo and a drink. This will be the time to learn about the tradition of bocas, popular cuisine, and the importance of shared meals within the culture of Costa Rican cantinas.

We'll continue our tour to the Atlantic Railway Station, the National Park, and the area around the National Museum. In this part of the tour, we will learn about aspects related to Costa Rica's economic development, the railroad, the construction of public spaces, and some of the events that shaped San José's history.

We'll end up at Acapulco, a cantina that has been linked to the capital's social and cultural life for decades. Here, we'll enjoy one last drink and hear some of the stories about politicians, artists, writers, and other figures who have frequented these places.

More than a drinking tour, this is an experience to discover San José through its cantinas, its neighborhoods, its cuisine, and its history.

The experience includes only the food selected by the historian and the drinks specified during the tour.
