Day 1: Luang Prabang to Phonsavan (Plain of Jars)

Begin your journey through the stunning mountain landscapes of northern Laos. Enjoy multiple scenic stops for photos, local villages, and viewpoints. Visit hill tribe villages (Hmong / Khmu) to experience local life. Stop at mountain viewpoints and nature spots. Have lunch at a local restaurant (own expense).

Continue driving toward Phonsavan and arrive around late afternoon. Check in to your hotel. Spend the evening visiting a local market or relaxing.

Day 2: Explore Plain of Jars and Local Culture

Start exploring the famous Plain of Jars. Visit Site 1, the largest and most impressive jar site. Head to Site 2, a peaceful setting with fewer tourists. Finally, visit Site 3, which offers scenic hill views and countryside.

Learn about the mysterious history of the ancient stone jars and the impact of the Indochina War in this region. Optionally, visit the MAG UXO Visitor Center to learn about unexploded ordnance in Laos or local villages, including a spoon-making village and a rice wine village.

Have lunch at a local restaurant. Continue visiting nearby cultural sites or relax at your hotel. Spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 3: Phonsavan to Vang Vieng

Depart from Phonsavan and travel through the new route toward Vang Vieng. Admire beautiful limestone mountains and untouched landscapes. Pass remote villages and authentic rural life. Make scenic photo stops throughout the journey.

Stop for lunch en route. Continue driving with panoramic views of mountains and valleys. Arrive in Vang Vieng in the late afternoon or evening and get dropped off at your hotel.
