Opis

Small-group tour with a short historical film in a private cinema hall. Walk through Munich to trace the origins of the Third Reich. Visit key sites and handle authentic artifacts from the era.
This premium small group tour combines film, multimedia storytelling, and authentic historical artifacts to create a deeper understanding of Munich during the early rise of the Third Reich.

Your experience begins at Munich’s historic Isartor with a short historical introduction film shown in a private cinema hall. Produced specifically for this tour, the film uses archival footage, photographs, and maps to introduce Munich in the years surrounding World War I and explain how political instability, economic crisis, and social upheaval transformed the city between 1913 and 1933.

After the film, step outside and follow your guide into the streets where these events unfolded. As you walk through Munich’s Old Town, the tour traces the gradual rise of the movement, also focusing on the early years long before World War II began.

Throughout the tour, your guide brings the period to life using historical photographs, short archival clips, and visual comparisons displayed on iPads. These images allow you to see how Munich’s streets and buildings looked during the turbulent years following World War I and how the city changed in the years that followed.

To make the history more tangible, guests will also have the opportunity to see and carefully handle authentic artifacts from the period. These include original World War I and World War II medals as well as German inflation-era banknotes from the early 1920s. Holding these objects offers a rare, direct connection to the political and economic upheaval that shaped everyday life in Germany during this period.

Visit locations connected to early political meetings and follow the story as small gatherings evolved into a powerful political movement. Along the way, your guide explains how propaganda, public speeches, and the tense atmosphere of post-war Germany helped radical ideas gain influence.

As the narrative unfolds, the walk also follows parts of the route taken during the failed Beer Hall Putsch of 1923, allowing you to stand in the places where the attempted coup unfolded and understand its significance in the movement’s early history.

The tour concludes at the NS Documentation Center Munich, the city’s main museum dedicated to the history of National Socialism. Guests receive free entry to this five-story exhibition space, where they can continue exploring the topic through extensive displays of photographs, films, and historical documents that examine the rise and consequences of the regime in greater depth.
