Meet your host directly at Hovedøya pier. From there, your guide will welcome you and lead you to a peaceful outdoor area near the water. Here, you can enjoy the island atmosphere and prepare your own BBQ in a beautiful natural setting.

Please note that food and drinks are not included in the ticket price.

Guests must bring their own food and drinks. The host provides the BBQ equipment, setup, and a suitable outdoor area, making it easy to enjoy a local outdoor experience without having to organize everything yourself.

In addition to the BBQ setup, your host will take you on a guided island walk around parts of Hovedøya. During the walk, you can discover the island’s beautiful nature, coastal paths, beaches, historic ruins, and peaceful viewpoints. Your guide will share simple stories and local insights about the island’s nature, history, and everyday life in the Oslofjord.

How to Get There

To reach Hovedøya pier, take the public ferry from Aker Brygge / Rådhusbrygge in Oslo city center. The ferry ride to Hovedøya is short and scenic and normally takes around 5–10 minutes.

Please check the ferry schedule before the activity, as departure times may vary depending on the season and day of the week.

When you arrive at Hovedøya pier, your host will be waiting for you there. Look for the person holding a “Just Guide” sign.

Please arrive at Hovedøya pier 15 minutes before the activity starts, so the group can begin on time.
