After hotel pickup in Salalah, travel west along the coastal road, where limestone cliffs rise above the waters of the Arabian Sea, gradually opening toward the Indian Ocean. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the region’s geography, coastal formation, and natural environment, helping you better understand the landscapes you encounter.

The first stop is the Marneef coastal area, known for its exposed limestone formations and coastal blowholes. From designated viewing points, observe how waves interact with the rocks. Blowhole activity depends on sea conditions and natural tides.

Continue to Mughsail Beach, one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in Dhofar. Here, enjoy a short and easy walk along the beach and nearby viewpoints, allowing time to experience the open coastal scenery, sea breeze, and wide horizon where the Arabian Sea meets the Indian Ocean. This stop offers excellent opportunities for photography and quiet observation of the surrounding cliffs and shoreline.

Continue toward a series of elevated coastal viewpoints, selected for their open horizons and uninterrupted sea views. These stops allow time for photography and quiet observation of the rugged coastline and cliff formations.

Next, follow the zigzag mountain road, a striking route carved into the cliffs. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the winding road below, offering a clear perspective of the terrain and the engineering that allows access through this dramatic landscape.

The journey then leads to Shaat Viewpoint, where you can look into one of Oman’s deepest natural sinkholes. From the viewpoint, learn about the geological processes that shaped this feature and its role in the surrounding landscape.

On the return journey, visit Fazayah Beach, a wide and open stretch of coastline bordered by cliffs. Enjoy free time to walk along the shore, relax on the sand, or take photos. Swimming is optional and only recommended when sea conditions are suitable.

Later in the afternoon, reach Eftalquot Cliff viewpoint, accessed via a short off-road track. This elevated location overlooks a white sandy beach below and offers expansive views along the coast, making it an ideal final scenic stop as the light softens.

Along the route, you may also see naturally growing frankincense trees, where your guide will explain their historical and cultural importance in Oman.
