Begin your surf adventure on Lima’s renowned Playa Makaha, a beach celebrated for its variety of surf breaks suitable for every level. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a wetsuit tailored to your size, ensuring comfort as you prepare for the ocean. Once changed, start your session with warm-up and stretching exercises on the sand, designed to boost your stamina and get you ready for the waves ahead.

Your instructor will then guide you through a step-by-step theory session, covering how to stand up on the board, maintain balance, and steer while riding a wave. You’ll also learn the easiest way to enter the water and get practical tips for surfing at Makaha. Whether it’s your first time or you’re looking to refine your skills, you’ll be matched with a surfboard that suits your level—soft boards for beginners, and fiber boards for intermediate and advanced surfers, each with the right leash for safety.

Once you’re ready, head into the Pacific with your instructor by your side. They’ll help you catch waves, observe your technique, and offer real-time advice to improve your stance and control. Playa Makaha features three distinct surf points: two near the shore with gentle waves ideal for learning, and the famous “La Reventazón” (known locally as “La Reventa”), which offers a challenge for intermediate and advanced surfers.
