Puerto Maldonado: Trekking route in Puerto Maldonado 4D/3N

Join us to discover the exuberant tropical nature on this 4-day route through the Tambopata tourist corridor, in Puerto Maldonado. Its incredible landscapes will captivate you from the first moment!
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Madre de Dios River
We will pick you up from the airport, the bus station or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado. From here we will move to the city's river port, where we will board a traditional boat. We will navigate the Madre de Dios River to our hostel, located 30 kilometers from Puerto Maldonado.

After settling into the different bungalows of our accommodation and regaining strength with a good lunch, in the afternoon we will take a hiking route through the forest to collect seeds and learn about the different uses of jungle medicinal plants. Next, we will take a boat ride along the river to watch a romantic Amazonian sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner and rest until the next day.

Day 2: Tambopata
Once we have breakfast at our accommodation, we will go to the Tambopata Reserve to start a trekking route through the Amazon jungle. Throughout this stretch of hiking we will learn to distinguish the different plant species that inhabit the Amazon forests such as cedars or aguajes and animals such as butterflies or toucans. Our route will continue to Lake Sandoval, characterized by its great biodiversity.

After visiting the lake we will have lunch and in the afternoon we will take a walk until night falls to observe the nocturnal fauna of the forest. We will finish the day at the hostel. Dinner and accommodation until the next day.

Day 3: Monkey Island
We will have breakfast at our lodge to enjoy a morning of adventure through the Amazon jungle. You will have the opportunity to climb trees, walk along hanging bridges and zip line on a cable that is more than 200 meters long.

After the fun in the jungle, we will return to the lodge to have lunch and rest for a few hours. In the afternoon, we will travel to the famous Monkey Island. On this small islet in the middle of the river's course we will observe various specimens of primates such as marmosets, maquisapas or huapos. We will finish the day at the hostel. Dinner and accommodation until the next day.

Day 4: Cachuela - Anaconda Lake - Puerto Maldonado
We will get up at dawn and after breakfast we will go to meet the parrots of Cachuela, an area of the river where the peculiar blue-headed macaws live. Then we will return to the lodge for breakfast and continue bird watching on the way to Anaconda Lake. Once we arrive at the lake, we can practice activities such as fishing.

Finally, we will take you back to your hotel in Puerto Maldonado, where we will arrive around 12:00 p.m.
