Puerto Maldonado:Excursion to the Chuncho clay lick in 2 day

On this excursion to the Chuncho clay lick we will take you to live one of the best experiences that Puerto Maldonado offers. Peruvian nature in its purest form awaits you.
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata National Reserve
At the indicated time we will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado and we will travel in a 4x4 to the banks of the Tambopata River. After two hours of travel, we will change the vehicle for a boat that will take us to the accommodation where we will spend the night.

When we arrive at our destination, we will leave our suitcases and recharge our batteries with a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we will embark on a hiking route through the tropical jungle of the Tambopata National Reserve, where we will be lucky enough to see the animals in their natural habitat.

After the walk, we will return to the lodge to have dinner and rest until the next day.

Day 2: Tambopata National Reserve – Puerto Maldonado
First thing in the morning, specifically at 4:30 a.m., we will leave the Tambopata hotel and go to the Chuncho clay lick for parrots and macaws. To get there, we will sail in a boat for an hour and a half on an entertaining tour in which we will be able to see the most special species of animals, such as grunts, sachavacas or jaguars.

Once in the clay lick, we will see hundreds of parrots of different species that approach the walls to eat clay. You will discover endless peculiarities of these animals! Likewise, we will learn about the three most colorful species of macaws in America. It will be an unforgettable experience!

After visiting the Chuncho clay lick, we will return to the hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we will take a walk through the reserve's botanical garden and learn everything about the different fruit, timber, and medicinal species of Tambopata.

Finally, we will say goodbye to the reserve and head back to Puerto Maldonado, where we will finish our 2-day tour in the late afternoon.
