In Silves, wander through cobbled streets that echo with stories of the past. Start your journey exploring the city’s impressive medieval fortress, Silves Castle, built under Arab rule and later conquered by King Sancho I and Count Afonso II during the Christian Reconquista. Although entry to the castle is optional, its imposing exterior and strategic location offer stunning photo opportunities and panoramic views.
From there, stroll to the nearby Gothic cathedral, a striking monument constructed over a former mosque. You’ll also visit the traditional city market, where the vibrant atmosphere, local produce, and artisan goods provide a window into the region’s culture.
As you move between landmarks, your guide will share local legends, including the romantic tale of a Muslim princess and a Christian knight, bringing the city’s history to life.
Please note: Entry fees to the castle (€2.80) and cathedral (€1.50) are not included.
Pick-up and drop-off are included from designated areas between Armação de Pêra, Albufeira, and Vilamoura. Baby seats and highchairs are available upon request, and all guests are fully insured.
