Savor traditional Portuguese food with a very homemade flavor while enjoying a Fado show, the old-fashioned way, at the only traditional Fado House in Gaia.
Fado Português is the only traditional fado house in Vila Nova de Gaia, owned by one of today's most famous singers, Sandra Correia. Surrounded by Port wine cellars, next to Quinta do Conde das Devesas and a few minutes' walk from Cais de Gaia, Fado Português overlooks the historical centers of Porto and Gaia, their most iconic monuments, and the Douro.
The Fado show is made up of several parts, with several singers, some of the best in the country, in addition to the famous Sandra Correia.
Doors open at 8 PM. The first part of the Fado show begins at 9 pm. Before the first part, appetizers are served and an introduction is given to the history of fado, from its beginnings to the present day. After the first part, dinner is served. After dinner and before dessert, there is the second part of the Fado show. And after the desserts, the third part. The end is uncertain; the nights are all different, and everything happens in the moment.
It is a unique cultural experience in a truly traditional and familial atmosphere. An experience that's hard to explain but that you'll want to repeat!
