Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through the Carpathian Mountains, following the famous winding road and stopping at several panoramic viewpoints along the way.

Visit the stunning Bâlea Lake, a glacial lake located at over 2,000 meters (6,500 ft) above sea level. Surrounded by spectacular alpine scenery, you'll have free time to walk around the lake, take photos, browse local souvenir stalls, or relax at one of the nearby mountain restaurants or cafés.

Continue to the impressive Poenari Fortress, the authentic fortress of Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Dracula). Perched high on a rocky cliff overlooking the Argeș Valley, it is considered the true fortress associated with the famous ruler. Visitors who wish to reach the fortress must climb approximately 1,500 steps. The climb is challenging but rewards you with breathtaking views and a unique historical experience. Please note that access may occasionally be restricted due to maintenance or weather conditions.

The journey also includes a stop at the beautiful Vidraru Lake, one of Romania's largest artificial lakes, surrounded by forests, cliffs, and spectacular mountain scenery.

This region is also one of the best places in Romania to observe wild brown bears in their natural habitat. While driving along the Transfăgărășan Highway, there is often a chance to spot bears near the roadside or at the edge of the forest. Although sightings cannot be guaranteed, if we are lucky enough to see them, they will always be observed safely from inside the vehicle without disturbing the animals.
