Start your morning surrounded by wings. Just 45 minutes from Bogotá, the Hummingbird Observatory in La Calera is a conservation sanctuary where you can observe up to 14 species of hummingbirds in their natural habitat — including the extraordinary sword-billed hummingbird, one of the most jaw-dropping birds on the planet. You'll spend three hours at close range, watching them hover inches away as they feed from garden blooms and specially designed nectar stations.
