Meet your guide at the BICOWA office in Bigodi Trading Centre and set off on a 3-hour guided walk through the Magombe Swamp. Walk along wooden boardwalks through the papyrus wetland with a professional local birding guide from BICOWA.
As you walk, keep an eye out for primates such as red colobus monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, and baboons. The wetland is home to over 200 bird species, including the Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus Gonolek, White-spotted Flufftail, Yellow-billed Barbet, and various sunbirds.
Your guide will explain papyrus ecology, medicinal plants, and the importance of community conservation in protecting the wetland. Your visit contributes to community projects and wetland conservation.
