Start in Cluj-Napoca and travel to Sighetu Marmației. Visit the Memorial of the Victims of Communism and the food market. Optionally, see the Elie Wiesel Memorial House and/or the Village Museum. Then, visit the Merry Cemetery of Săpânța, meet a painted cross maker (or a weaver), and see the Peri Monastery, the tallest wooden church in the world. Overnight in Breb.

Then, watch the unique water mills, whirlpool, and alcohol distillery, still operating for community needs, and run by the same family for hundreds of years. At the end, see an optical illusion near Budești, and go to Breb, the best-known Maramureș village, where you can meet several local inhabitants. Finish the trip in Cluj-Napoca.
