Hilya, a classic 35-foot Scandinavian sailing yacht, departs from Raisio Marina and heads into Airisto: the traditional maritime channel that ships have navigated for centuries on their way to the open Turku archipelago. On the way out you'll pass the Turku Shipyard, where some of the world's largest cruise ships are built — a brief, striking sight rather than the focus of the trip.
Airisto is a genuine stretch of water, not a sheltered pond — so your skipper's Finnish commercial skipper license and offshore navigation qualifications are put to real use here, especially on breezier autumn days. This is a small-scale, hands-on sailing experience, not a mass-tourism boat ride: a real taste of the same channels and conditions Finnish sailors have used for generations. Hilya also has a warm, cosy saloon below deck, so if the weather turns brisk you can always head down to warm up.
Along the way you'll pass pine-covered skerries, and your skipper shares the basics of sailing at whatever pace suits the group — hands-on if you'd like to help trim a sail or take the helm, or relaxed if you'd rather just watch the islands go by.
Coffee, tea, and light snacks are served aboard during the sail.
After the 3-hour sail, round off the trip at a public Finnish sauna right next to the departure pier — sauna access is included for approximately two hours after the sail.

This is a genuine sailing experience with real conditions, not a padded-down tourist cruise — how the trip runs depends on the weather, and sailing only gets livelier in stronger wind. If the skipper determines that conditions are too challenging for sailing, the trip will be cancelled and your booking fully refunded. Hilya has a warm saloon below deck if you need to warm up. Coffee, tea, and snacks are served aboard, and a Finnish sauna ticket (open a couple of hours afterward) is included at the end of the trip.
Please come to the gate at Pier F and wait there — the pier is located at the end of the breakwater. We will come and pick you up about 10 minutes before departure, and walk down to the boat together. If you have any trouble finding us, please contact us via the messaging system in your booking confirmation.
