Explore Lake Louise & Johnston Canyon on this incredible winter trip of a lifetime.
Ice skate on the frozen lake, hike or snowshoe the snowy trails, or try cross-country skiing in the beautiful winter landscape. Perhaps you’d prefer to show your Canadian spirit by strapping on your skates and embracing our nation’s favourite pastime — ice hockey!
Prefer to be warm & cozy? Visit the gift shop or dine in one of the great restaurants inside the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Next we will journey to Johnston Canyon where we will walk the trail to the lower falls. From here, you have the option to continue on a self-guided journey to the upper falls!

Please note that lakes typically remain frozen from early December to the start of April, however, all winter activities are subject to seasonal conditions as well as weather conditions on the day of your tour.
Please be ready and waiting at the main entrance/lobby 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time. Your tour vehicle will have an Explore Banff logo on the sides and rear.

- Up to two hours to explore at each location.

- Free equipment rentals: ice cleats & hiking poles.
- A hot drink, snack, and water refills (BYO reusable water bottle).
- Onboard USB-A charging stations for your phones and other devices (just bring your own cable).
- Hiking at Johnston Canyon includes a guided walk to the lower falls, with optional unguided hiking to the upper falls.

- Tips/Gratuities for your guide/driver are not included but are greatly appreciated!
- Additional equipment: ice skates, helmets & snowshoes can be rented at an extra cost from third-party providers before/during the tour, subject to availability.
- Meals are not included in the tour, though a light snack is provided. Lunch is available for purchase, but options are limited and expensive. Guests, especially with dietary restrictions, should bring their own food and drinks.
