Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in San Jose (If on route). Drive to the Poás Volcano, passing over tectonic faults and next to beautiful waterfalls. Admire the agricultural economy that develops around the fertility of its soils, rich in volcanic minerals, highlighting the production of coffee.
Visit a coffee farm and walk inside it to experience the coffee culture. Learn about the history, economic, and cultural implications from this product to the country. Finally, taste a coffee processed as it has traditionally been done in this farmstead for more than 130 years.
Arrive at the active Crater of the Poás Volcano and see its acidic lagoon with a mineral color. Observe its soils, rocks, and vegetation to recognize its geomorphology and the different types of activity that take place in this complex stratum volcano. Take the trail to the Botos lagoon observing its flora, fauna, and natural history.
