Start the tour: drive to ancient capital of Georgia - Mtskheta. First stop will be at Jvari Monastery. Then, drive to visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Returning to Tbilisi - drive to the OLD TBILISI.
we will drive to ancient capital of Georgia - Mtskheta. The city is one of the most important spiritual and historical center of the country. Whole city is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. First stop will be at Jvari Monastery - a sixth-century Georgian Orthodox monastery near Mtskheta, which is overlooking to whole city and to the confluence of two rivers - Mtkvari and Aragvi. Then, drive to visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral: the main patriarchal cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church, the Mother Cathedral of Georgia, the place of enthronement (enthronement) of the Georgian Catholicos-Patriarchs, the burial of many kings of Georgia, their family members and patriarchs from the great cathedrals. Monument of Georgian architecture of the XI century, one of the four great cathedrals (Oshki, Bagrati Temple, Alaverdi). Returning to Tbilisi - we will drive to the OLD TBILISI and start the walking tour to discover the beauty of ancient capital – walking tour starts at the Europe Square and includes: Metehki Church, Cable Car to the Narikala fortress (ride up by cable car), “Mother of Kartli”, walking down to Abano (baths) District. Then continue walking to Legvtakhevi waterfall. Free time there for photo shooting. Free time for shopping at Tbilisi Mall or Galeria Mall (1-1.5 hours). Drop off at the requested point (or at hotel).
