The cult piece is finally back in Dresden!
"The most beautiful thing in life," sums up the group of gentlemen around the young writer Dr. Pfeiffer, "was high school."
But Pfeiffer had private lessons, was never in high school, knows neither the drummers nor the pranks they play, is "not a human being at all, so to speak."
A crazy idea: The good old days should be resurrected and he should make up for what he missed. As "Pfeiffer with three f's," he becomes a "Schöler" of Professor Crey in the upper class of Babenberg, learns what the "steam engine" is all about while strolling, and devises all sorts of mischief with his adolescent schoolmates to fool the teaching staff. But soon he also has more serious intentions, because he's got quite adult feelings for the lovely daughter of the strict headmaster...
