Between vines and history: Three wines, three locations, and impressive views of Würzburg—from the fortress to the Main River, with culture and wine enjoyment
This special tour combines everything that makes Würzburg so special: wine, history, and atmospheric views. We start in the Innere Leiste vineyard, which is located directly on the Panoramaweg below the Marienberg Fortress. From here, you can enjoy views of Höchberg, the baroque Käppele chapel, and the Maschikuli tower. Right at the start of the tour, we enjoy the first of three selected wines – accompanied by lively insights into Franconian winegrowing, little anecdotes, and lots of interesting facts about the region. As we continue on our way, we cross the vineyards of the Innere Leiste and learn more about the interplay of soil, climate, and grape varieties in Franconia. We also discuss the historical roots of winegrowing in Würzburg, as well as stories about the people who have shaped these vineyards over generations. After a short climb, we reach the Schlossberg vineyard. There, not only does the second wine await us, but also an impressive view of the city of Würzburg, with a view of the old town, the cathedral, the Main River, and the surrounding hills. At the same time, we look back at the fortress above us. With this panorama, we delve deeper into the history of the city: from the time of the prince-bishops to destruction and reconstruction to the modern university city. Along the way, we also take a look at the famous Würzburger Stein vineyard, which we won't visit directly but can see clearly from a distance. Its special features in cultivation and its significance for the region are also clearly explained. After a final stage through the vineyards, the third wine awaits us – from another Würzburg winery. The route then takes us down to the Mainviertel, one of the oldest and most original districts of Würzburg, where our tour comes to a relaxed end near the river – filled with impressions, stories, and flavors.

A barrier-free option is available by prior arrangement. - Number of participants: 4–8 adults (individual registrations are also possible for groups of 5 or more) - Wine tasting: includes 3 wines (0.1 l per person)
- Minimum age for tasting: 16 years - Children and teenagers under 16: free accompaniment by an adult possible, not counted in the minimum number of participants. Please indicate when booking if children will be attending. - No admission fees required - Weather: The tour will take place even in bad weather – please wear appropriate clothing and bring rain gear!
