Once upon a time, the whole world was supplied from West Leipzig. Today, start-ups meet art, and culinary delights meet culture. On this tour, we will experience the vibrant history of Leipzig.
West Leipzig stands for a new beginning! Here, historical buildings meet modern architecture, commerce meets art, and life bursts at the seams. Hardly any corner of Leipzig is as exciting as the West. As rapidly as the district is currently changing, the old appearance of the district that supplied the whole world is still well preserved. Let's take a look at the transformation in Plagwitz.
During the tour, participants will learn some really amazing stories. For example, that of the long-established company Mey & Edlich, which started the first mail-order business in Germany 130 years before the era of online shopping.
The cultural offerings in Plagwitz are as brilliant as the culinary ones. Since goods once went from the West out into the world, on this tour we travel the world through food and drink. Especially in the lively microcosm of Karl-Heine-Straße, we will discover a lot with a lot of flavor.
