Most Komodo day trips give you a boat, a guide and a rushed schedule. This one gives you the day back, and every minute of it on camera.

We run a small-group day trip to six of the finest stops in and around Komodo National Park, with a crew member whose only job is to shoot your day: a drone for the aerials, an action cam for everything underwater, and a mirrorless camera for the portraits a phone simply cannot take. It is not an add-on and you never have to ask. It is why people book this trip instead of the one next to it.

YOUR DAY

We collect you from your hotel and drive you to the harbour, then leave Labuan Bajo while the sky is still changing colour.

The first stop is Padar Island. Climb the trail to the ridge that put Komodo on every travel feed, with three bays and three differently coloured beaches below you at once. This is the shot you came for, and the drone goes up while you are on it.

From there to Pink Beach, one of very few pink-sand beaches in the world. Swim, snorkel the shallow reef straight off the sand, and let the crew work.

Next is Komodo Island. A licensed national park ranger walks you through the dry forest to look for Komodo dragons living wild. Sightings are never guaranteed, the animals roam freely, and we will never fence one in for a photo.

Lunch is served on board, and then we reach Manta Point. Drop in and drift over the cleaning station where giant manta rays glide past, sometimes within a few metres. Filmed for you underwater.

Then Taka Makassar, a curving sandbar that rises out of turquoise water at low tide and is best understood from above.

The last swim of the day is at Siaba with green turtles, soft coral and water calm enough to stay in until we call you back. Then home to Labuan Bajo and a drop-off at your hotel.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE WATER
The order of stops can change with tide, wind and ranger instructions. Your guide will explain any change on the day. Snorkelling gear is provided and there is always a guide in the water with you, whether it is your first time with a mask or your hundredth dive.

Komodo National Park entrance and activity fees are not included and are paid in cash on the day. Your guide collects the money on board and pays at the park counter for you, so you never queue.
