Begin with a village experience by Gerobak Sapi (traditional cart) tour or cycling tour (depending on the day’s setup), letting you soak up the rural atmosphere and daily life around the village.
Next, get into the spirit of the experience by wearing traditional dress (kebaya/lurik)—perfect for photos and for feeling closer to the heritage you’re about to learn. Then try Jemparingan, traditional Javanese archery, known for its distinctive sitting position and calm focus.
Continue your cultural immersion with mini-courses led by local artists. Take a gamelan course, where you’ll learn the basics of Java’s iconic percussion orchestra and rhythms. Then, join a traditional dance course, guided step-by-step so beginners can follow along confidently.
Next, take part in a batik ecoprinting class, learning a creative batik-inspired process and making something truly personal.
