Welcome to the Tokyo Sumo Festival, an indoor entertainment experience where travelers can enjoy Japan’s national sport up close. The main experience is a lively sumo show performed by retired professional wrestlers, designed for international visitors, families, couples, groups, and anyone seeking a memorable Tokyo cultural activity.

Our venue is located at Ginza INZ 1 B1 in central Ginza. It is about 1 minute on foot from Ginza Station Exit C9, about 1 minute from Ginza-itchome Station, and about 2 minutes from JR Yurakucho Station. It is easy to combine with sightseeing around Ginza, Yurakucho, Hibiya, Marunouchi, and Tokyo Station.

Before or after the show, explore famous Tokyo spots nearby. Tokyo International Forum is a short walk away. Kabukiza Theatre, Tsukiji Outer Market, the Imperial Palace area, Hibiya Park, Ginza Six, and Tokyu Plaza Ginza are easy to visit by walking, subway, or taxi.

During the show, watch retired wrestlers demonstrate powerful sumo bouts, traditional movements, ritual gestures, and the atmosphere of the dohyo. See the strength, speed, balance, and technique of sumo from close range, in a way that feels different from an arena seat or screen.

Even if you know nothing about sumo, the show is easy to enjoy. English and Japanese support helps explain the basic rules, the meaning of rituals, and the culture behind movements such as shiko stomping, salt throwing, and the face-off before a bout.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary chanko-nabe, a traditional hot pot meal closely connected to sumo wrestlers’ daily life. It is included as part of the experience, so visitors can not only watch sumo but also taste a part of sumo culture.

The highlight is the live sumo performance. Retired wrestlers bring the world of sumo to life through exciting demonstrations, powerful ring action, and lighthearted moments. Selected guests may also have the chance to join interactive parts of the show, such as trying simple sumo movements under safe guidance.

Optional hands-on training-style experience:
Some selectable options may include a more active sumo training-style experience for guests who want to move their body and try basic sumo exercises with guidance from a former professional wrestler. It may include shiko, suri-ashi, and simple training drills.

Please note that the main product is the live sumo entertainment show. The training-style experience is optional and different from the main show format. It is recommended only for guests who want a physical activity.
