Continue toward Takayama Jinya and Nakabashi Bridge, where the red bridge, flowing river, traditional architecture, and seasonal colors create one of the city’s most memorable autumn scenes. Take time to enjoy the atmosphere and capture photos before entering Sanmachi, Takayama’s famous old town.

Walk along streets lined with beautifully preserved wooden merchant houses while learning how Takayama developed as a castle and merchant town. In autumn, the darker wooden facades contrast beautifully with the colorful trees, giving the old streets an especially atmospheric feel.
