Arrive in Arashiyama, the scenic western district of Kyoto, around 09:20. Your 150 minutes here cover five distinct landmarks:

Togetsukyo Bridge — The iconic "Moon Crossing Bridge" spans the Katsura River with forested mountains behind it. A classic Kyoto postcard view in every season.

Tenryu-ji Temple — A UNESCO World Heritage Site founded in 1339. Its Sogenchi garden is one of the finest examples of borrowed-scenery landscape design in Japan. Admission is ¥500 if you wish to enter the garden.

Nonomiya Shrine — Tucked inside the bamboo forest, this small shrine has been a place of prayer for love and safe matchmaking since the Heian period. Its rare kuroki (unbarked log) torii gate is a quiet contrast to the vermilion gates you see elsewhere.

Bamboo Grove — Walk through the famous path where towering bamboo stalks create a green cathedral overhead. The rustling sound here was named one of Japan's Top 100 Soundscapes.

Kimono Forest — Around 600 cylindrical pillars wrapped in vivid kimono textile patterns line the walkway near Randen Arashiyama Station. A striking fusion of traditional craft and modern art — perfect for photos.

Pick up some shika senbei (deer crackers) from a vendor and watch them bow politely before taking the treat. The park is wide and green, with ancient temples visible in the background.

--- Fushimi Inari Taisha, about 90 minutes ---
Your final stop is the head shrine of Inari worship, famous for its Senbon Torii — thousands of bright vermilion gates that wind up the mountainside. Each gate was donated by a business or individual as a prayer for prosperity. The main shrine area and the first stretch of gates are easily walkable; if you have energy, the full loop to the summit takes about an hour.

After leaving Fushimi Inari, the bus heads to Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi bus parking around 17:00 for Kyoto passengers to disembark. The bus then continues to Osaka, arriving at Kani Doraku Dotonbori East Store around 18:20.
