Come to a local Japanese home and learn about Matcha tea ceremony, wear a traditional Japanese kimono, and try your hand at making some common Japanese foods!
Our cultural experiences let you do more than just cook and perform a tea ceremony—you will have the chance to learn about our rice and miso, kimono and the matcha tea ceremony along with the history behind those traditions.

Experience Japanese Matcha
You will learn how to serve matcha tea as a host, and to receive the tea as a guest. There are many rules for both ends to make a ceremony "one time, one meeting". This will be a great introduction to the tea ceremony as you get a glimpse into the elegance and symbolism of this timeless tradition.

Onigiri Rice Balls and Miso Soup
You will learn about different types of rice and miso as we make onigiri and miso soup. We offer a tasting comparison of differnet types of miso and let you use the one you like best for your miso soup. We focus on simple, satisfying, and traditional recipes that bring the warmth of a Japanese home kitchen to your table.

Learn to wear Kimono
We will help you wear an elegant kimono and teach you about its history and the purpose of each item involved. All of the kimono available have been a part of my family for generations. Of course you will be able to take photos in the kimono, but we also encourage you to wear them during the Matcha tea ceremony. It's a perfect way to experience the beauty and tranquility of Japanese culture. Our kimono sizing is equivalent to US women 0 to 10.

During our time together, we hope that you will learn not just how to enjoy these symbols of Japanese culture but also why they are important to our people. Join us in our home in the suburbs of Sapporo and truly feel Japan.
