Nong Khiaw: 3-Day Trekking, Cloud Camping & Nam Ou Kayaking

Embark on a 3-day northern Laos adventure with mountain cloud camping, hill-tribe village trekking, and Nam Ou River kayaking. Discover waterfalls, historic caves, and traditional cultures.
Day 1: Pha Mery Viewpoint Hike & Summit Camping
Pick-up at your hotel/hostel between 8:00 and 8:30 am to begin the 4-hour journey to Nong Khiaw. Your adventure begins in the afternoon (around 2:00–3:00 PM) with a scenic trek to Pha Mery Viewpoint, one of Nong Khiaw’s most breathtaking peaks. Hike through peaceful forest trails filled with birdsong and mountain breezes, ascending to an elevation of approximately 1,191 meters (about 1.5 hours). At the summit, take in spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of green valleys, winding rivers, and mist-shrouded villages.

Your local guides will set up the campsite while you watch the sunset dip behind the mountains. Enjoy a freshly prepared local dinner before falling asleep under a clear sky full of stars. Wake early the next morning to witness a magical sunrise above the sea of clouds, followed by hot coffee, breakfast, and a morning hike back down to base.

Day 2: Multi-Ethnic Villages, Primary Forest & Village Homestay
After breakfast, depart at 9:00 AM by tuk-tuk (approx. 15 minutes) to the trekking start point. Begin a 2-to-3-hour walk to remote hill-tribe villages, home to Lao, Khmu, and Hmong communities. Stop for lunch and immerse yourself in local daily life.

In the afternoon, trek for another 3–4 hours through lush primary forest, passing high viewpoints perfect for photography. Arrive around 4:00–5:00 PM at a mixed-ethnic village. Spend the late afternoon learning traditional bamboo craft techniques from local elders. In the evening, help cook dinner with your host family, share stories, and stay overnight in an authentic village homestay.

Day 3: Muang Ngoi, Tad Mork Waterfall & Nam Ou Kayaking
Enjoy breakfast and tea/coffee before traveling by boat along the river to Muang Ngoi. Explore the historic village with your guide, visit History Cave, hike up Pha Noi Viewpoint, and stroll through the local paths.

After lunch, travel by boat to Sop Kong Village, followed by a 1-hour trek to Tad Mork Waterfall to relax and swim in its refreshing natural pools. Later, return to the riverbank for an exciting kayaking session downstream on the Nam Ou River. Drift past water buffaloes, local fishermen, and organic farms backed by dramatic limestone cliffs. Arrive back in Nong Khiaw between 4:00–5:00 PM to end your journey. if customers need to return to Luang Prabang after the tour ends, Please contact the service provider.
