This half-day cultural tour offers a fascinating glimpse into Mongolia’s rich heritage, just a short drive from Ulaanbaatar. Held at a scenic ger camp surrounded by open steppe, this local Naadam celebration captures the spirit, strength, and skill of Mongolian nomadic life through its most iconic cultural event.
Pick-up Time: 13:00
From your hotel or a central location in Ulaanbaatar, we’ll head west into the vast Mongolian countryside. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of rolling hills and endless steppe—home to the nomadic way of life that remains vibrant today.
Local Naadam Festival (15:00–17:00)
Once at the camp, you’ll be welcomed into the colorful world of Naadam, where tradition meets excitement. This intimate local version of the national festival features the famous Three Manly Sports:
Horse Racing – Feel the thrill as young jockeys ride swift Mongolian horses across the steppe in a test of stamina and speed.
Archery – Witness expert marksmen and women demonstrate the ancient art of archery with powerful longbows.
Wrestling – Cheer on competitors as they perform traditional dances and grapple in matches full of strength and symbolism.
Beyond the competitions, enjoy cultural performances, traditional music, and the opportunity to engage with local nomads dressed in beautiful traditional attire.
Return to Ulaanbaatar
We’ll depart the festival site around 17:00 and expect to arrive back in the city between 18:00–19:00, depending on traffic conditions.
