Glimpse of the Mount Everest- 7 days from Kathmandu

The Glimpse of the Mount Everest 7-day trek is ideal for those people who desire to see the world’s high mountains including Mt. Everest within short days.
The trek starts short thrilling flight to Lukla. After you get down at Lukla airstrip your trekking starts in Phakding, the first overnight place, following Dudha Koshi River. The next day you walk through a forest of rhododendrons and magnolia and arrive at Namche, a bustling bazaar (market), that’s a junction for trekkers. You stay one more extra day at Namche for acclimatization. On that day you hike to Syangboche, and Khumjung village one of the major spots for the view of Mt. Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Amadablam, Mount Thamserku, Mount Kwangde, etc. The next day you trek to Tyangboche where a famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery is located. In Tyangboche you meet Buddhist monks and see their daily rituals in a monastery.

Trek Itinerary.

Day 1: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2810m) - Trek to Phakding (2652m)

Early morning transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport to catch a flight to Lukla (2810m). Trek starts from Lukla. The trail contours through the Sherpa village and yak pasture land. Have lunch in Thado Koshi (2591m) with a stunning view of Kusum Kangaroo(6370m). You will see the painted Mani wall in Ghat and Phakding village.

Day 2: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3446 m)
After breakfast, the trail crosses a long suspension bridge over the Dhudh Koshi River which originated from the Khumbu glacier. Today you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo village. You have lunch in Jorsale(2740m). You cross another suspension bridge in Larja Dobhan(2830m). From here the trail moves to a steep staircase through pine forest and ascends until Namche Bazaar.

Day 3: Excursion Namche Bazaar and Syangboche(3880m).
After breakfast climb to the Syangboche(3880m). From Syangboche you can see Mt. Everest(8848m), Lhotse(8516m), Ama Dablam(6814m), Thamserku(6618m), and more mountains. From here descend to the Khumjung village (3780m), the village of Sherpa, the worldly renowned climbers. In Khumjung village, you can visit Kumjung Hillary School and Kumjung Gompa. After lunch hike back to the Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867 m).
Today you can see a very close-up view of Thamserku (6618m), and Ama Dablam(6814m). Also, you can see Mount Everest (8848) and other world-high mountains. On the way, you can see Nepal's national bird Pheasant, and a mountain animal called Himalayan Thar. Tengboche is famous as the name of Tengboche Monastery. This monastery is open for a visit after four o'clock in the afternoon. Visiting Tengboche Monastery is an exciting part of your journey. In the evening you will be able to see an exciting sunset on the top of the world and other high mountains.

Day 5: Tengboche Monju via Namche Bazaar. 7-hour walking..
Overnight at Mountain Lodge.

Day 6: Trek Monju to Lukla. 6-hour walking.

Day 7: Fly back to Kathmandu - Transfer to the Kathmandu hotel.
