Departure from Madrid
Early departure from Madrid towards the Serranía de Cuenca, crossing the Manchego landscapes until you reach one of the most spectacular cities in Castilla-La Mancha. During the journey, the guide will share interesting facts about the region, its medieval villages, and its history as a borderland between Christian and Muslim kingdoms.

What we'll see and do
The first stop will be in Cuenca, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A walking tour of its Old Town will let you discover iconic spots such as the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral of Santa María and San Julián, and the famous Puente de San Pablo, from where you can admire the unmistakable Hanging Houses, suspended over the abyss of the Huécar River. The guide will explain how they were built in the 15th century and why they became a symbol of balance and architectural audacity.
Next, the tour continues to the Enchanted City, a natural site declared a Natural Site of National Interest, where water and wind erosion have sculpted curious rock formations reminiscent of human and animal figures. During the walk through this stone labyrinth, you'll learn about evocative names like El Tormo Alto, El Elefante, and Los Amantes de Teruel, as well as the legends that accompany each figure.
Just a few minutes away, a brief stop at the Ventano del Diablo will let you enjoy one of the most impressive views of the Júcar Canyon. This natural viewpoint, carved into the rock, offers a breathtaking view of the Cuenca landscape, where the cliffs, the river, and the pine forests create a picture-postcard image. It's a perfect spot for photos and to feel the magnitude of Cuenca's natural environment.

At noon, there'll be a lunch break at a typical local inn, where you can sample the local cuisine: ajoarriero conquense, morteruelo, Júcar trout, or traditional sweets like alajú (optional lunch, not included).

Afternoon: Segóbriga Archaeological Park
In the afternoon, the tour heads to the Archaeological Park of Segóbriga, one of the most important Roman sites on the Iberian Peninsula. Among its ruins, you can admire the amphitheater, the theater, the Roman baths, the forum, and the Visigothic basilica, which let you imagine what life was like in this prosperous city over two millennia ago. The guide will explain Segóbriga's importance as a mining and commercial center of Roman Hispania and its role in the expansion of Roman culture within the peninsula.

Back to Madrid
Head back to Madrid in the late afternoon, after a day packed with history, nature, and unique landscapes that combine the very best of the cultural and natural heritage of Castile-La Mancha.
