About the 6 hour tour
This extended tour is ideal for guests 13 years and older who have normal physical fitness.
The trail covers just over 8 km in total, taking you further into the forest than the shorter tour. Along the route, you’ll visit two stunning waterfalls, where you can enjoy lunch, take a refreshing swim, and unwind in a peaceful natural setting.
During the hike, you may encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including birds, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, and many fascinating insects. Sinharaja is a true biodiversity hotspot:
• 60% of its tree species exist nowhere else on earth
• 50% of all endemic mammals and butterflies are unique to this forest
Bird enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy, with species such as the Red‑faced Malkoha and the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie often spotted along the trail.
