Discover Argentine folklore through the body, music, and flavors in an intimate and authentic cultural space in Buenos Aires.
Welcome to "Un Lugar Aparte," an independent cultural center in the heart of Villa Crespo, Buenos Aires. It is a lively space where music and encounters are always present. We begin by sharing a mate (a typical Argentine infusion) and something delicious to eat while we get to know each other and chat about what we are going to experience.
We invite you to immerse yourself in Argentine folklore through your body. We will learn the basic steps of chacarera and zamba, two traditional dances from the north of the country, accompanied by live music. We will play with zapateo (foot percussion), rhythm, and the use of the pañuelo, a poetic symbol of these dances. No previous experience is necessary: the important thing is to give yourself over to the game and enjoy yourself.
Later, we will sit down to share traditional songs from the popular songbook. You don't need to know how to sing: what matters is participating, sharing stories and feelings, and discovering the collective power of this music that is part of the Argentine soul, as well as exchanging songs from other parts of the world.
We close with a Creole snack: homemade empanadas, cheeses, regional sweets, and a final round of mate... or a glass of wine, if you prefer. The experience includes a snack with regional sweets and a welcome glass of wine. The purchase of empanadas and other food is at the expense of each participant, as they can be purchased on site.
It's a relaxed time to chat, rest, and savor the culture. An intimate and authentic experience to get to know Argentina from the inside: through the body, music, and encounter.

This experience is suitable for all ages and does not require any previous knowledge of dance or singing. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that allow you to move easily. The space is on the ground floor and is accessible for people with reduced mobility. The activity is carried out with a small group to maintain an intimate and authentic atmosphere.
There are regional food and drink options available for purchase on site, payable in cash or with local payment methods. The meeting point is easily accessible by public transport (subway B - Malabia station) and we will send you all the details once your reservation is confirmed. The experience can be conducted in Spanish and English, so don't hesitate to ask us!
