Rovaniemi: New Year's Eve Special Aurora Safari

What better way to spend New Year's Eve than on an Aurora Adventure! Join us for this special event, in our wood cabin in the forest. Try and spot the Northern Lights and grill BBQ snacks on the fire!
Program Summary:

We welcome you to join us for an unforgettable New Year's Celebration!

This activity starts at 19:00 and finishes at 23:00 on New Year's Eve.

We will take you to our wood cabin in the forest, off the beaten track and far away from the light pollution of the city. Here you can search for the Northern Lights and enjoy some BBQ snacks, grilled on the open fire.

If you wish to carry on your New Year's celebrations until the clock strikes midnight, you are welcome to continue after this trip, at Santa's Cuisine Restaurant in Santa Claus Holiday Village, which will be serving a special food menu and drinks until 01:00. We can drop you off here after the trip.

What you will experience during the trip:

When you arrive, our experienced guide will provide you with all the information that you need to maximise your chances of spotting this spectacle of nature. They will tell you about ancient Finnish myths and legends of how the Auroras form and also the modern scientific explanation for their appearances. They will also give you useful tips on how to take the best photos, including which settings to use on your camera or mobile device.

Whilst you eagerly wait to see if you are lucky enough to observe the beautiful lights dancing across the arctic sky, you can stay toasty and warm by the open fire in our cosy kota hut. You will also be provided with BBQ snacks which you can grill over the crackling fire. If you prefer to take some time inside, or you have little ones who are getting sleepy, don’t worry, you can always head inside the heated log cabin where you are welcome to stay for as much time as you wish.

If you are fortunate enough to see the auroras, our guide will be happy to help you take photos on your own camera/devices. Northern lights are of course an act of nature – the chances of seeing them depends mostly on two factors – the solar activity and cloud cover. Due to this, we cannot guarantee that they will appear every day.
