Depart Tbilisi and head west toward the Didgori Monument, about 1 hour away. Visit the Didgori Battlefield Monument, a memorial complex marking the famous Battle of Didgori (1121), where King David the Builder defeated a much larger army. See gigantic swords, crosses, and panoramic mountain views. Take some photos and enjoy a bit of quiet reflection.
Next, depart for Dashbashi Canyon, a drive of about 2.5–3 hours depending on the route and stops. Walk the suspension bridge, visit the waterfall, and explore the canyon’s dramatic natural beauty.
Optionally, try the zipline bike, glass cafe, or hike down into the gorge. Stop for lunch at a local guesthouse or cafe in the Tsalka area, or enjoy a picnic lunch. Finally, begin your return to Tbilisi, arriving back in the city in the early evening.
