Mombasa/Watamu: 3-Day Tsavo East and Salt Lick Safari

Embark on a 3-day safari from Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park and Salt Lick. Enjoy game drives, stay in a safari lodge, and spot elephants, lions, and giraffes in the wild.
Day 1: Coast – Tsavo East National Park

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu. Travel to Tsavo East National Park via Bachuma or Sala Gate. Enjoy a game drive en route to the lodge, where you might spot red elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes.

Arrive at your safari lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive in Tsavo East. Visit Aruba Dam or seasonal rivers, where you can see more wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tsavo East – Salt Lick (Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary)

After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in Tsavo East. Exit the park and drive to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. Arrive at Salt Lick Safari Lodge for lunch. Relax and enjoy wildlife viewing from the lodge balcony.

In the afternoon, go on a game drive in Taita Hills Sanctuary. Visit waterholes, which are great for spotting elephants, buffaloes, and big cats. Return to the lodge for dinner. You can also enjoy night wildlife viewing from the lodge (optional).

Day 3: Salt Lick – Coast (Mombasa / Watamu)

Start your day with an early morning game drive in Taita Hills Sanctuary. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Check out and drive back to Mombasa or Watamu. Make an optional stop for souvenirs or scenic viewpoints along the way. Conclude your safari with a drop-off at your hotel or residence.
