Puerto Jiménez: Corcovado and Bioluminescence in Golfo Dulce

The adventure begins at 5:15 AM at the Corcovado Wild Tours office, where you'll enjoy coffee and fruit before heading to the public pier in Puerto Jiménez. At 5:30 AM, you'll board the boat bound for Corcovado. During the boat trip, you can admire the coast of the Osa Peninsula and, depending on the season, spot dolphins, sea turtles, and even whales.

Upon arrival at the park, you'll start a guided hike with a certified naturalist guide in search of tapirs, monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, toucans, peccaries, crocodiles, and many other species that inhabit this tropical rainforest. Guided by a local expert, you'll kayak or take a boat through one of the areas with the highest concentration of bioluminescent microorganisms in Costa Rica. As you move the water with your hands or oars, you'll see millions of tiny organisms emit flashes of blue light, creating an unforgettable natural show.

The bioluminescence sightseeing tour ends at approximately 7:30 PM and is the perfect end to a full day of adventure, nature, and wildlife on the Osa Peninsula. The experience includes boat transportation to Corcovado, a certified nature tour guide, park tickets, a light breakfast, a typical lunch, gear for the bioluminescence activity, a specialized guide, and small groups to provide a more intimate, personalized experience.
