Discover Lao cuisine from fresh market ingredients to the finished dish on a small-group culinary experience in Luang Prabang.

Begin with pickup from your hotel in the Luang Prabang Old Town and travel to a local morning market. Meet your chef and explore the market stalls while learning about herbs, vegetables, spices, and other ingredients commonly used in traditional Lao cooking.

After the market visit, continue to the Mekong River and board the boat where your cooking experience takes place.

With a maximum of 6 participants, enjoy a relaxed and hands-on cooking session under the guidance of your chef. Learn how several well-known Lao dishes are prepared while taking part in each step of the cooking process.

The traditional meat menu may include dishes such as Mok Pah, fish steamed in banana leaf; Oua Si Khay, minced pork with lemongrass; Laap Mou, Lao-style pork salad; and Khao Niew Mak Muang, mango sticky rice.

A vegetarian menu is also available and may include Mok Het, mushrooms steamed in banana leaf; vegetarian Oua Si Khay with tofu and egg; Lao-style tofu laap; and mango sticky rice.

This is not simply a cooking demonstration. You will prepare the food yourself and learn more about the ingredients, flavors, and techniques used in Lao cuisine.

Once the cooking is complete, sit down and enjoy the dishes you have prepared while spending time in the peaceful surroundings of the Mekong River.

At the end of the experience, transfer back to your hotel in the Luang Prabang Old Town is included.
