Discover Wanfenglin Scenic Area, one of the most spectacular karst landscapes in southwest China. Thousands of cone-shaped limestone peaks rise above rice fields, winding rivers, and traditional Buyi villages, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else.
Wanfenglin can be explored through two distinctive areas: the elevated scenic route overlooking the peak forest and the countryside of Nahui Valley below.
The elevated viewpoints offer some of the best panoramas in the area. Look across an immense sea of karst peaks stretching toward the horizon, with farmland and villages nestled between the mountains.
Along the scenic route, discover landmarks such as General Peak and Stars Surrounding the Moon, where clusters of smaller peaks appear to surround a central mountain. Stop at Jinxiu Fields for sweeping views combining limestone peaks, farmland, the Nahui River, and traditional villages.
One of Wanfenglin’s most recognizable sights is Bagua Field. Formed by the unique karst terrain and traditional farming patterns, the fields create a remarkable spiral-like formation when viewed from above. Continue to viewpoints overlooking the Six-Six Great Fortune Peaks and layers of mountains extending into the distance.
The landscape changes beautifully throughout the year. Depending on the season, you may see bright rapeseed flowers, lush green rice fields, or golden crops beneath the mountains.
After enjoying the panoramic scenery, spend time discovering Nahui Valley. The valley is home to Lower, Middle, and Upper Nahui villages, traditional Buyi settlements surrounded by rice fields and karst mountains.
Lower Nahui Village has a livelier atmosphere with local restaurants and traditional lanes, while Middle and Upper Nahui offer quieter countryside scenery. Walk through the villages, follow rural paths beside the fields, or explore the valley at a relaxed pace.
Photography lovers can look for the ancient banyan tree, stone bridges, rice fields, village lanes, and viewpoints where mountains and farmland appear together. Morning is particularly atmospheric when mist settles between the peaks, while late afternoon brings softer light across the valley.
Allow around 3 hours for a shorter visit focused on the main scenic areas. For a more relaxed experience, spend approximately 4–5 hours combining the panoramic landscapes with time in Nahui Valley.
