From Arequipa: Salinas Lagoon, Volcanoes, & Hot Springs Tour

Begin your experience with a pickup from your hotel in downtown Arequipa. Travel through Andean landscapes, volcanoes, and nature.

Make your first stop at the Volcano Viewpoint in the district of Chiguata, which you'll reach after approximately 45 minutes of travel. Admire some of the region's most iconic volcanoes and take photos.

Continue to the town of Chiguata, where you'll visit its main square and the traditional Church of the Holy Spirit. Enjoy a traditional breakfast featuring local products.

Continue your journey for approximately 1 hour until you reach Alto Simbral, located at about 4,200 meters above sea level. Appreciate the characteristic vegetation of the high Andean zones, such as queñua, yareta, and tola trees, as well as enjoy the mountain landscapes.

Next, head to the impressive Salinas Lagoon, where you will spend between 1 and 1.5 hours, making several stops to enjoy the scenery and observe the Andean wildlife. Depending on the season, you may see flamingos and Andean flamingos, vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas.

Between January and March, the rains can create beautiful mirror-like lakes that reflect the landscape. During the dry season, from April to December, visit the traditional salt extraction areas, where you can learn about this activity and take advantage of the scenery to capture unique photographs.

Continue to the Lojen Mini-Volcano and the Lojen Hot Springs, where you will have time to relax and enjoy a pleasant soak in the thermal waters, surrounded by the natural landscape of the Andes.

After this experience, return to Chiguata for lunch. Finally, begin your return trip to Arequipa. Upon arrival in the city, be dropped off near the Plaza de Armas, concluding your tour.
