Discover the Quelccaya Glacier, the largest tropical glacier in the world. Explore incredible landscapes, Andean lagoons, and spectacular views of the Vilcanota Mountain Range.
Experience an unforgettable adventure exploring the breathtaking Quelccaya Glacier, considered the largest tropical glacier in the world and one of the most amazing natural treasures of the Peruvian Andes. This full-day sightseeing tour will take you through spectacular high Andean landscapes, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear lagoons, and wildlife typical of the Vilcanota Mountain Range.
The experience begins very early with pickup from your hotel in the city of Cusco between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM. From there, we will begin a journey of approximately 5 hours south of Cusco until we reach the remote Andean community of Phinaya, where we will enjoy a delicious traditional breakfast prepared with local ingredients.
We will then continue our journey by transportation for approximately one more hour, getting closer and closer to the majestic Quelccaya Glacier. Upon reaching the end location of the vehicle route, we will begin a short and accessible hike of about 20 minutes, ideal for enjoying the natural surroundings in peace while observing lagoons with crystal-clear waters, small streams, vicuñas in their natural habitat, and the impressive mountains that are part of the Vilcanota Mountain Range.
Once at the glacier, you will have free time to explore, take pictures, and admire the huge ice formations that make this place one of the most impressive destinations in Cusco. Our tour guide will share information about the ecological and cultural importance of this ice giant, considered a vital source of water for Andean communities.
We'll conclude this incredible experience with our arrival in the city of Cusco at approximately 8:00 PM, leaving you with unique souvenirs of an unforgettable adventure.
